Meet T. Maxine Woods-McMillan, Esq.

Throughout her career, Attorney Maxine has been known as The Great Translator – finding ways to make parties with differing, and at times, competing interests understand the position of the other. And when that has not been successful, her talented advocacy skills make her equally effective at getting the fact finder in a dispute to see the position of her client. Attorney Maxine is an Officer in the African American Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the Texas Bar College. Additionally, she is an active member of the Labor & Employment sections of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association as well as the Texas Employment Lawyers Association.

Before taking the leap to law school, Attorney Maxine was a credentialed Human Resources executive, a certified mediator, and a sought-after HR consultant. During law school, Attorney Maxine was an award-winning member of the Mock Trial team and gained invaluable legal experience during externships and clinic participation in the areas of Probate, Civil Rights, Immigration, and Estate Planning. Attorney Maxine has developed a well-rounded legal skillset in Bankruptcy, Intellectual Property (IP), and Personal Injury firms, as well as in her role as a Hearing Officer adjudicating administrative hearings for appeals cases.

Attorney Maxine is of Eastern Caribbean descent and is most at peace on or near a tropical beach. She is a minister in her faith community, a diehard politics junkie, a logophile and fierce believer in the Oxford comma, a disability warrior and advocate, a wife, and a mother. She enjoys reading, singing, cooking as a way of cultural fusion, and finding new and creative ways to disguise her ostensible addiction to fashion.
